Women with large breasts can have several different issues with their breasts due to their size. The issues depend on what is currently going on in the life of the woman. In a woman who is currently breast feeding, large breast engorgement has to due with the amount of milk that is being produced and the pressure that is being created from the breast tissue. If the child does not take all of the milk, large breast engorgement can occur. This tends to cause some discomfort and make women uncomfortable. There are several different ways to deal with this.
First of all, the woman can try to continue to breast feed and that will relieve a lot of the pressure. If this is not an option, the woman can use a pumping machine to relieve a lot of the pressure. This allows the woman to go back to breast feeding if she would like. Many women do this if they are going to be away from their children for a period of time and still want to continue to breast feed them. But this does not solve the problem if the woman wants to wean the child from breast milk and breast feeding altogether. In this situation there is little that can really be done. The woman has to wait for a period of time to let the breasts fill up and they will eventually stop producing milk. This is a natural process that has been going on for millions of years and the breasts are not damaged. While they may feel full and painful, they are not going to rupture and eventually the discomfort will get better.
In women who are not breast feeding who have large natural breast swelling, there can be a number of explanations for this issue. The most common one is that the breast is a hormonal tissue. Breasts, especially large ones, are very responsive to hormones. So if a woman is having a menstrual cycle, there is a potential for having pain. Most women tend to understand and recognize this because it happens on a monthly basis. But occasionally the discomfort can occur outside of the regular cycle, which is cause for a further investigation.
When this happens, the woman should consider some special circumstances. One of those is pregnancy. Becoming pregnant is a very hormonally active state. When the uterus starts to harbor a little fetus, there are many different hormones including estrogen and progesterone that begin to circulate around the body. When these hormones reach the breast tissue, they can respond by enlarging slightly and becoming tender. There are other causes of large natural breast swelling. Sometimes it can happen in response to a new medicine or a change in birth control pills. Sometimes it can be an indicator of a more serious disease. In these cases where there are no known association, a more thorough examination as well as history and physical should be performed by a medical profession. A healthcare profession will be able to help a woman with the large breasts issue.
